move village elders jar without busting it?

the only option to get to the basement i have seems to be to break the jar, do i need to raise strength or is there some other thing i need to to to trigger another option?

go to any city and wait until night. Find a night watchman and have him teach you.

also the fandom wiki shows almost every chest and other ways to level it.
