Some Suggestions For 2000 mode
First one is somewhat easy and probably not game breaking: Allow us to transfer money from one Credit Card to another. The Cards having an output like an Export Center does would make it a little easier to use said Centers as you could chain Cards together around the board. Right now I have three Centers feeding into one Card and another card sitting over near the packs to use for selling and buying but it's a pain to transfer money from the card connected to the Centers over to the one I use near the packs. Them having an output would just ease a bit of busy work.

Next suggestion is a bit rougher and may cause a balance issue but is something I find really annoying. Anyways, my suggestion: Allow us to "prevent" the Drought, Wildfire, and Earthquake disasters by giving them resources before they timeout. Both Drought and Wildfire can be stopped with Water, six for Drought and three or four for Wildfire, I forget how many things it typically sets on fire. Each only needs one Water so however many it normally sets on fire. For Earthquake you can stop it with three Concrete, that's $90 worth of resources and I've found that's about how much an Earthquake normally does to me, maybe even make it four if you want to err on the side of it costing more.
The reason for this suggestion is that I am really particular about having my timings all be the same for different sections. So all my farm as ticking at the same time, all my mines tick together with the smelters, all my oil rigs with the power plant and Factory making Plastic and so on but when one of these three disasters hits it typically hits one part of my setups and I have to shut everything down, fix the problem, wait for the power to run out and restart everything so all of the timers are back in sync.
This is very much a "me problem" but it's really annoying to already have everything I need to fix the problems that are caused yet not be able to prevent the problem from happening in the first place with those resources.

Third suggestion: allow us to stack EMPTY Storage Containers. I've got a lot of them from the packs while hunting other things and don't want to sell them because I might use them but they are a bit hard to organize. I understand this might be a coding issue as they are a container and have to be coded a bit differently than other things but can you add a "IF empty allow_stack == true" line or something? I know this isn't a "buildings can't stack" issue because I've got my Robot Stations and Apartments all stacked together.

Final suggestion: Allow us to "turn off" Wind Turbines and Solar Panels and turn then back on again so we can control when they output their power. This is part of the "me problem" in my second suggestion in that I like to have all the things in a specific section all ticking at the same time but I often get my build timing wrong so I'm typically off by a couple of seconds. Doesn't help I can't "save" Sunlight and have to build a Panel before the moon ends.

Thanks for the really fun game and all the various DLC for it.

1st : increasing the 5k cap would be an alternative solution

2nd : to be honest, I think it's fair to not be able to prevent any disaster. It would defeat its purpose.

3rd : put an empty Storage Container on top of a black card (any Deposit), then all your empty Storage Containers. Then move your first Storage Container to get a Storage Container Container (basically similar trick as Resource Chests on Mainland)

4th : can't you just disconnect then connect again when your game is paused so that your Wind Turbines and Solar Panels timings are similar ?

This is not the problem, I've never even hit the cap. The problem is that I have one Card that is getting money added to it automatically via selling off the Gravel from two Uranium Mines and the Water from a Water Treatment Plant and when I actually want to USE that money I either have to move that Card over to the pack area then move it back to where I actually want it to be or I need manually take out hundreds one at a time and move THAT stack over to the other Card. This is an organizational and busy work issue, not a storage cap issue for me.

This really depends on what the "purpose" of these disasters is. If the "purpose" is to get you to send resources then they can do so via prevention. If their "purpose" is to disrupt game play and cause player frustration then yes, they shouldn't be prevented. But if the latter is their purpose then they are bad game design in a game not actively deigned to cause player frustration.

Thanks! I didn't know this trick, I'll make sure to use it now.

They keep running even when not connected to anything that needs power. The timers I want synced are the ones above the Panels and Turbines themselves, not whatever I am trying to power, which I do have in sync from doing what you said.
As all other power providers need some sort of fuel you can "turn them off" by just not providing the fuel. This allows you to sync all their timings in a section. With Wind Turbines and Solar Panels their timer starts ticking the moment they are finished and you have no control over it once it's done being built. Not so bad with the Turbines as Wind doesn't go away and you can try and time them all together but if you don't use Sunlight it becomes Wellbeing and vanishes so use it or lose it there.

So I tried doing this and it didn't actually work, can't place the Storage Container on top of a black card.
I took a screenshot but it doesn't have the clenched hand in it to show I was holding the Container and the black cards didn't have to dotted box to show they could be placed on.

I just realized that it was a side effect of one of my mod ("Sell Coins" in the Workshop). I thought it was a built-in hidden trick.

Ah, that explains why it didn't work then. Thanks for letting me know.

Try using markets / export centers. I tested it and it works with markets, but I'm not sure with export centers.

Both of those automatically sell things. The point is I DON'T want to sell them. I just want to stack them up in a corner until I need them but they don't stack.
Edit: Though I guess with an Export Center you could just not give it a worker. That might work. Though I've uninstalled the game since I completed all of the new material so I can't really test it.

You can also drop 1 resource on a magnet then quick click to generate a stack.
I keep a few basic resources around my first one for quick selection.
