I think animals should give some raw meet ones in a while, for example cow should give 3 milk and 1 meet, chicken 5 eggs and 1 meet rabbits 1 poop a 1 meet. meet is the only non reliable food resource in the game everything else can be produced afk.

You can have your chickens incubate eggs to make more chickens, then kill them for a chance of meat.

They don't seem to drop meat very often, though.

I don't know if it's a thing, but it would be nice if rabbits would easily breed if you keep 2. Maybe add baby forms of animals as well.

I think adding more meat drops would meet my needs. (see what I did there?) It wouldn't have to be an automatic drop but more often would make slaughter more useful esp. for rabbits.

You can already go in Catacombs to kill mobs and get meat. Meat is a really powerfull item as you can do stew with it, should stay hard to get imo

Yeah, it shouldn't be super easy but trading a farm animal (or farming catacomb mobs) should have an even or better chance of getting meat. Not automatic for sure.
