Is the dlc worth it?

Did not try vanilla, but looks perhaps like an interesting thinking experience...

I did, but am on the fence, it feels very linear...and shallow, but can see potential in it...

For me, the DLC is clearly worth it. But if you did not try vanilla yet, I would play it first. The game has already a lot of really nice content without the DLC.
If you don't feel challenged enough by the main game anymore, the DLC adds three nice additional challenges, two of them can be quite challenging if playing in hard difficulty. And you get additional cards and recipes. And you get modding support.

Modding support is part of the base game, it's not a DLC feature, however some mods may require it :)

I think it's totally worth it, the additional challenges make it fun and it's a breath of fresh air if you've already completed or seen most of the base game. Totally recommend

i spent another 15h to defeat all the curses and just now tried the two possible curses on the main world at the ame time as a challenge. it's totally worth it, especially considering the low price.
