Is there a way to remove poison?

I gave a poised villager charcoal and the "cure a poisoned villager" achievement popped, but the villager is still poisoned and taking damage. I gave 'em another one but no apparent effect.

Same for me. It was a Swordsman, on the island. Fought a snake, got poisoned, gave charcoal, got the quest completed for curing poison, but the Swordsman is still poisoned.

for those still wondering. i think that there is a CHANCE a villager will get cured by feeding him charcoal. i have no idea what are the odds but when i had this i fed it i think around 3 times before they actually got cured.

Is there a more effictive cure than the charocoal? If not, this one sounds like the odds for cue are a bit low, there are other people complaining that they've fed charcoal much more than three times without cure. Unless it got fixed recently - I'm just reading forums.

Cured poison twice, charcoal first try both times. Could be luck, but so far works everytime.

Just got poison for the first time myself, charcoal worked on first try for me.
