Ideas!
Ideas that came to my mind while playing...

Make gender, male and female, let them appear randomly which will make it difficult and increase the rng for example you will have to wait for a woman to beget a new settler!

Add water as the basic raw material and ingredient of all food and the basis of food! For example, you can add a well or a pool or a river from where it will be obtained and then stored!

Buildings and resources could have an automatic location on the map which would speed up the gameplay and you could focus more on development and combat, while villagers and mobs would move further freely!

The tasks could be more difficult and complicated, but they would bring more benefits! For example, more warriors can go to the forest and during the task you have to react to an ambush or other random event!

Weather that would randomly appear every moon. For example, it would affect the growth rate of plants or statistics during fights! Rain - % to attack, + % to increase
Heat + increased consumption of water and food, - for plant growth
Frost/Snow - no plant growth, water freezes, you need warm clothes!

New weapons and experience are needed for those who have fought many battles to advance by increasing their stats! Thanks to this, you will be able to use strategy to defend yourself! For example, an experienced warrior will be worth much more than a few rookies, which will reduce the need for food and the number of cards needed to defend!

Cards of clothes and armor which, after production, would be put on by villagers. For example, a warrior in armor will first lose his congregation instead of his life. Armor can be different. For example, leather +1 defense instead of loss of life, studded +2 defense, scaly +3 defense, plate +4, etc...

Defensive buildings could be interesting, e.g. defensive walls, defensive tower, ambushes! For example, a card shooting tower from which archers could shoot at attackers. To kill archers, you first need to destroy the tower card. A defensive wall card would protect the village from a surprise attack, which would give time to prepare the defense. The ambush card would be random and would appear randomly when defending the village.

Stragglers who would randomly attack our village in order to plunder gold or goods. We could avoid fighting in exchange for paying tribute or defeat and take over their loot!

just wait for version 2.0. Aran from sokpop already promise 50 to 100 new card for version 2.0, maybe some of your idea is included in the new version.

All we need is way to LOCK cards in place. At least places/buildings
