Unable to Progress "Use key to open storage room"

After beating Gerik you are supposed to walk out of there using the key he dropped on the door, however when I played there was no door, so I just simply walked out. I left the area and did the whole regicide thing at bywater, but the quest to use the key on the door it's still there. My Playthrough is now completely stuck, what the ♥♥♥♥?

What do I do?

it happened to me, the door was opened so you cant use the key hence the quest wont complete. I reloaded and play the mission again and it worked

Yep! Had to replay the last 30min or so but at least I managed to finish the game after that.
