does this game take place in the same universe as the comics, or the show?
i know that this is a pretty trivial question, but ive been wondering it for a while now. from what i know every walking dead game takes place in one or the other, like how the telltale games take place in the comics universe, and survival instinct takes place in the shows universe. i havent found a solid answer for either in the game itself, as we meet none of the characters or get any direct references to the show or comics in saints and sinners. wikipedia says that its "based off of" the comic series, but that doesnt conclusively confirm that it takes place in the same universe (and on top of that, you know how accurate wikipedia is) so does anyone have any evidence for either side? what do you think?

Personally I think it takes place in the show and Telltale universe, though ultimately I don't think it matters since whether it's the show or the comics we don't interact with ANY of the core-story characters at any point. Sometimes the human-ai walking around will make a reference to who I think is Negan, but that character exists both in the show and in the comic. I've read that Negan's bat as a reskin of the nail bat can be obtained in the game(though I think it's only from DLC since I don't have it and I bought none of the DLC), much like The Orphan bow that Clementine from the Telltale games uses, but those could just be references for the sake of nostalgia.
