Two questions: 1. Spider's Nest clue and 2. New safe not in first game

1. I've found every recipe clue and got the resulting recipes except for the "Spider's Nest" one. I have no idea what it's talking about and other than the finger-thick strands you see in your new crypt-home where the blocked off area is. I'm assuming at this point it's something figurative and not in an actual spider web, but if it is I haven't found it yet and it's getting on my nerves.
2. I've beaten the storyline at this point and are working on the trade missions. (In hindsight I probably should have done those first.) While trying to find one of the things I needed I took a trip to Bastion and figured that since I was running a bit short on protein I'd hit the axeman's hideout again. After entering the house however I discovered a safe in the bookshelf between the bedroom and the bathroom that hadn't been there in the first game (the bookshelf was, the safe was not).
However I've not run into any clues regarding safe codes during my playthrough so far. Has anyone else found the code for it?

I tried looking up both pieces of information online after trying to solve things myself and failing but had no luck with that either.

Oh, the one that says 'went camping by the skycraper' or something to that effect? That one is on one of those plastic tables in a tent near the tower's base, not actually in or on the tower. There's only a few tents you can actually enter and all of them are within the patrolled grounds that eventually lead to the tower's entrance. I don't remember which one specifically has it as I stumbled over that one by accident while trying to take cover from gunfire, funny enough.
At least, I THINK that's the one. If it's not then I dunno. I can only guess that what I'm missing is in the DLC that i refused to get. Oh well, I've already pretty much beat the game so there's little point other than idle curiosity at this point. Thanks anyway. As for the safe, I might have found the answer to that one yesterday. I started a new playthrough to get the 'kill these people by this method' achievements and I found a code on one of the shelves that hadn't been there on Day One of owning it so either it was added with one of the updates or it was bugged and got fixed. Either way I'mma try it later.
