Is the MR mode coming to the steam version?
I'll be really dispointed if it doesn't...

if only they would add how to change background to 1 color, because vd could help to turn on the MR that way

In a word, no. I don't know of any PC VR games with MR support because the only VR headsets that support it are Quest Pro and Quest 3.

Came here after seeing this feature advertised on the PCVR version on Humble Bundle but that turned out to be Humble's fault as they took an image from the Quest 3 version.

I mean then that is at least 40% of XR headsets on steam acording to the latest steam report... So that isn't a real excuse but what would be is it's just not enabled yet for 3rd party devs... But you can use it in vitrual desktop and another program so if it isn't it will. But the silance is odd and bad PR like if you can't just say so.

The problem with that would be you're excluding every other VR headset owner from that feature if you include it on the PCVR version. Which I believe is why, so far, no native Quest 3 game that has a MR mode has had that mode added to the PCVR version. Also I don't think it can work when the game isn't running natively in the headset and I've yet to see any evidence that it can.

Virtual Desktop's MR mode wasn't designed with gaming in mind, and that means you have to buy VD on the Meta Store which is an added cost.

And it's not 40%, most of those are Quest 2 owners, who don't have a pass through camera.

most of quest2/3 owners using vd I think. even pico 4 use it too. I remember it is always the no 1 bought in pico store.
it's even not that expensive and it's a choice.

it's not even hard. just help to let us change the background into 1 color, which then vd could help to make it transparent. easy peasy and helpful, and all ppl that use vd with passthrough headset could use it (and yes, quest 2 have pass through camera, just black and white but still have). U can use it or not it's up to u. eleven table tennis had put this for a long time.

with the nature of the game, it's very helpful to get MR functioning. I ever hit the wall because I couldnt see the real life wall and guardian just failed to restrict me when I'm too hot in the game XD

That doesn't matter becuase Meta might add it if they haven't already like with hand and fingure tracking... also PC is key in PCVR you should have all the options in the world like you do for flat games... How many people have VR to begin with on PC and yet games like VTOL VR refused to have a flat mode and Quest 2 does have pass though it just sucks but what about the quest 4 and now the new Pimax headsets? also VD works fine for gaming even wireless on a wireless conection... though you need a beastly PC at least a 3080 era/power system but that can change.... Also remeber they have the MR mode out just not on all platforms so why not just add it for those of us who'd enjory it?

Just use VD then, problem solved.

I still have my Quest 2, but got a Quest 3 512Gb so it's in storage. The "pass-through" on Quest 2 is horrible, completely unusable for MR.

But people do use it for it though especly with a game like this and they do it on quest.

not solved, because there's no feature to change background to 1 color yet on broken edge steam version.
vd could only make transparent 1 color (kinda like green screen). With broken edge's standard background, there're too many colors that the transparent feature of vd couldnt work right.
That's why I said "if only they would add how to change background to 1 color, because vd could help to turn on the MR that way". Last time I checked there's still not this feature

On Quest 2? No, no they don't. Maybe you do but the vast majority don't use a Quest 2 for MR content, it's not even technically supported on Quest 2 as there's no depth camera.

a matter of fact, some of my friends did it. Yeah, on quest 2. Better black and white than nothing. For depth, hmm, some of MR contents dont really need depth, and it's not like it's very flat for quest 2's passthrough. I know because I used it myself before upgrading to pico 4 then to quest 3.

That's not what the depth sensor is for, it translates the depth of objects inside the headset like your eyes do irl. Without it everything in the real world appears flat which makes doing certain actions extremely difficult.

Still not convinced that people use a Quest 2 for MR content when it's literally not supported on it. Check the Meta Store, every MR app says Quest Pro and Quest 3 only. I sincerely doubt the Meta Store would even let you download it, but I will check for myself by getting my old Quest 2 out of storage.

I know what u meant about the depth sensor.
and like I said, quest 2 still have a bit of depth from what I remember.
and I was not really sure since it's been a long time, but I think pico 4's depth is even worse though it has color.
but both should be ok to play most mr games (pico could only from vd like I said above though).

u can find all over google/youtube ppl using the quest 2 for MR contents.
usually the video is for side quest ar/mr games though
just an example :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIDhvMbtb_w

I couldnt find ones for famous vr games like eleven or thrill though, but on below video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rolwhgn8tB8
u could see 2 peoples saying (on the comments) they did thrill mr on quest 2

ps : just confirmed in my group, and 2 of my friends confirmed they could play mr games with quest 2, though it's only black and white
