Scenario editor sucks
This is my third time typing this. On a bus and something keeps distracting me, I press back arrow on phone and lose what I typed. This time in phone notes which saves, Steam does not save a draft like it should.

The scenario editor sucks.

On 🇬🇧 Southeastern I am able to make a passenger service just fine. However, I wanted and made a 12 car Javalin express Ashford to St Pancras non stop. For no reason at all, the path goes through a platform track at Ebbsfleet that requires slowing down for turnouts. How come I cannot select the specific tracks? At least TSW should have some logic to choose mainline if a service does not service that station, or not yielding to oncoming traffic if single track ahead.

Furthermore. I have an ai service start at Ebbsfleet ahead of player. My fault that it starts a few minutes too late and causes player to slow down. Player path still goes through a platform track for no reason. The ai service was supposed to stop at Stratford and player express overtakes. Unfortunately I cannot give a scheduled time to leave Stratford behind player. I probably can end the ai service at Stratford instead.

I found the random speed fluctuations due to the ai service ahead slowing player down funny. The Javalin does not flash the next speed, so you have no idea if the speed goes up or down. It is on the creator hub 'Totally not an annoying service' for 🇬🇧 Southeastern. Tested three times.

Another thing I wanted to do is have autumn colours, I never really played TSW in autumn before. November might have days just below freezing, but rain is not a weather option. It can rain around freezing and freezing rain exists. I believe leaves in autumn should lock up train wheels. Rain soaks the wheels, rails, and brakes. Should be a great challenge. It seams like hard acceleration in rain causes wheel slip during acceleration, but not locking on braking. There should be leaves mid October and in November to risk a train wheel sliding on a leaf during acceleration or braking. TSW should be able to manage that, is DTG not able to have ground and track texture with leaves, leaves on rail that cause a wheel to slide? Speaking of weather and season, the scenario keeps rain, but resets month to September. How come I cannot set it to specific month, especially for rainy autumn challenge.

I want a freight scenario, I think on Oakvile subdivision. I want to make a little longer consists up to around 60 cars, if yards can handle it. I want player to pick up and set out en route. Some traffic including ahead of player to have more signal aspects than clear.

I think Microsoft Train Simulator from 1999, and all the versions of Trainz, had better scenario editing for the user. MSTS scenario editor had a learning curve, but I could do a lot more. DTG have a good route and scenario editor. Do they think we are too stupid for it? Maybe anyone buying new versions of TSW and dlc off sales. Also, TSW3 and 4 surely can sim wet wheels, rail and brakes, leaves during autumn well, even on old routes for TSW2. DTG can release their editors and have tutorial video for their editors. What I have for custom scenarios in TSW3 still sucks.

In TSW4 there will be free raom which gives some better options in a way. Also scenario planner will have a number of new features that make it a bit better. Finally you can start using the full content editor. I agree that scenario planner is rather disappointing in many ways if you compare it with the TSC scenario editor.
