WWE 2K23 is getting its final takedown. As of January 6, 2025 the servers will be discontinued.

This includes all online functions, such as online matches and Community Creations. You will no longer be able to access any online game mode after this point, however if you already own the game you will be able to continue to play offline modes.

The game itself and all VC (Virtual Currency), as well as DLC/Add-Ons, will no longer be available for purchase starting November 1, 2024.

I assume you mean the servers. We're meant to get an update on that sometime this month.

So I just bought it, and found out about it's soon upcoming shut down.

What will I be able to keep playing after the servers are down?
Like, will the story mode and the usual stuff like tag team or how that's called be available to play? Or will only my roster not be available anymore?

It's only the online servers that are shutting down, so try playing the game with no internet connection to confirm what's possible to play.

MyFaction, Community Creations and online matches should not be accessible, but other areas should be fine.

Wait I'm confused now. I thought the servers were shutting next week?

There was an update last month saying it'll be later than September 30th (see the FAQ). There should be an official update this month, but I haven't seen that notification yet.

2K always closes their servers a lil over a year after a game comes out, to force people onto the next game. Honestly, I think this may be one of the longest times I can think of they've kept servers for a game open.

That's when they stop selling the game and VC, servers shut down on Jan 6, 2025.

The game literally has it stated as soon as you log into the game now. You can't buy the game or any DLCs after the end of October, and the servers themselves will shut down just after the new year. I do have a question for anyone with more knowledge than me on this since my last WWE game was 2k18, I know the standard mode, Showcase mode, and the MyRise mode will still be playable after, will the Universe and MyGM (vs cpu obviously) modes still be playable? Cause I'm really starting to dig them right now.

Yes, those 2 modes are not tied to their servers and are accessible when you play in offline mode.
