When did 2K decide the accelerator no longer meant "unlock everything"

I do not want to play Myrise or your showcase mode. I literally find those modes boring as hell and don't care. I just want to play the wrestling, if I wanted to jump through a bunch of tedious flaming hoops I wouldn't have gone out of my way to buy the package with the accelerator.

It's been the case for a few entries now that certain content is exempt from the Accelerator. Most recently Showcase and MyRISE content, and IIRC MyCAREER and Road to Glory content before that.

I find it completely obnoxious. I work full time and don't care to play through hours of unenjoyable content just to unlock things. If some people like those modes fine, but I don't. trying to force players to engage in an experience they hate is not good design.

I hear you on the Showcase part at the very least. I'm just not a fan of the game telling me to do certain things at certain points in a certain way, at that point I'm not playing a game at all. It's even worse when its focused on wrestlers I don't care about (last one I enjoyed was Austin back at 2k16)

I genuinely have no clue why anyone likes this mode. If you wanna replay someone vs someone, just do the match on exhibition without being prompted to do nonsense.

Right? Its so much fun pausing the game every 5 seconds so the game can tell me how IT wants me to play a match.. like f off with this 2k. Put that effort into fixing other things in the game. If I want to revisit Cena matches ill go on Peacock. I like other aspects of the game, but dont make me do this crap to unlock wrestlers.

Its designed as a one time run but it doesn't tell you to finish it in one sitdown lol. I play it for the extra stuff i get. Now I have ezekiel and jean paul levesque in my roster more characters for me.

Not the point. I find it boring as hell and buy the accelerator specifically to not have to do this. If you or other people like it, I find the genuinely baffling, but that's fine. I'm talking about me and people like me who don't want to do that nonsense.

my rise you cant skip the cutscenes which sucks, all i want is to unlock ezekiel and hes right at the end of the story (RIGHT at the end because cenas side quest pops up last to get ezekiel). some of the cutscenes are like 10 mins or sometimes you cant even skip your entrance. Myrise is a very long very boring mode that i only really got interested in the story when i was on my last 2 matches of the mode
