Controller not working in MyRise

My ps4 controller isn't working in myrise specifically,
i've tried unplugging the keyboard - that doesn't work.
it only works with steam input enabled, which results in the wrong button prompts which is quite infuritating.
with steam input disabled it's non-responsive and the keyboard doesn't work either and i have to Alt+F4 out of the game.
Any suggestions?

Have to be first controller.
This issue been in since 2K19, not your fault. They should have a sticky for year after year issues they don't fix.

If your using anything else like DS4Windows turn it off. Have to use steam > settings > controller > general controller settings PS4 checkmark. Mess around with or big picture until your first controller.

This how I see them going about this issue.

Both are true statements.

No one fixes. Year after year issue.
People want to work on new fun stuff, not go back and fix someone else code or fix bug within someone else code.

All 2K has to do is detect which controller is doing actions, when it navigates to different screen, that controller now assumes 1P. Put in options this off/on, defaults to on.

I mean both controllers can technically go back, so there really is no master controller.
Until you go into MyRise, and 2 controller starts the game while 1st controller doesn't exist, and your in a game where controller doesn't exist.
If second controller started game for 1st controller thats an issue.

If multiplayed, autodetect if input from different devices at sametime and have a popup, is there more than 1 player. yes. Then it keeps controllers assigned to the people its assigned too.

My 2 cents on how they could fix it. But its been issue since 2K19 or maybe even longer. Should have a sticky on same common issues, or common issues faqs on their website.

I have this exact problem in MyRise if I turn on my controller AFTER launching the game. In other modes, my controller would appear as Player#2 and #1 mapped on Keyboard.

May be just as simple as that for you (hopefully it is), turning on the controller before launching the game

I have been struggling with the same problem the entire time this game has been out. Here are all the things I've tried that haven't worked:

1. Opened in Big Picture mode
   
2. Disconnecting everything except the controller
   
3. PS, Switch, and Xbox Controllers (all wired)
   
4. Updated drivers for controllers
   
5. Disabling, then re-enabling Steam Input
   
6. Enabling Steam overlay

All imported characters don't work. Even if they have nothing customized about them. Additionally, I've only ever gotten it to work on a completely blank character. Absolutely no customization at all seems to work.

I hope this gets addressed soon cause I'm getting so tired of watching that Sami Zayn cutscene every time just to test if it works.

I thought I had this problem last week. I play Clone Hero and had a wireless dongle connected and 2k23 was recognizing that controller as 'PLAYER 1'. Don't know if this helps but make sure you don't have any other possible connections being recognized as controllers.
