can't do the grab breaker in the tutorial

I've been alternating pushing x and a for about 20 minutes in the tutorial after I'm grabbed but it isn't working. Any tips or way to skip this stage of the tutorial?

It's about luck or knowing what the AI is going to do.
Just spam pressing X, maybe they do both so after breaking x goto the heavy grab breaker.

Don't wait for the move to start either, press the button as soon as you're grabbed.

It's like the 50/50 situations you get in fighting games. You'll guess right eventually.

I got it to work by spamming the "A" button on the X-Box controller after getting grabbed.

See. I can't feel 'immersed' in this arcade, spammy, button mashing gameplay. Might as well play WWF WrestleFest or Pro Wrestling. Totally miss the simulator style.

There is meant to be timing involved, it's a guessing game. The problem is that they haven't figured out the timing yet so pressing repeatedly is a shortcut.
