Possible fix to Online Matches disconnecting

I had disconnecting issues in online matches WWE 2k23 (steam) and setting my adapter IPV4 DNS settings as follows : preffered DNS server 1.1.1.1 and alternate DNS server 9.9.9.9 and validate settings upon exit. Ask the people you are playing with to do the same and see if the issue persists.

Domain Name System addressing is basically a quick phonebook to convert names to ip addressing, typically for web browsing where some may help if you ISP native ones have too aggressive at filtering or just overloaded or sluggish. As you have done, probably best to have a mix of two services rather than put all eggs in one basket.

It's probably worth trying some of the freeware apps that test the ping and data flow such as Ookla speedtest or windows own traceroute method in a command prompt, although you'd need to know the actual server IP range to get a reliable result for gaming before settling on any of them, and many newer gaming routers have this feature as well where you can monitor the sites and server directly in realtime that helps a lot.

The common DNS public servers below, although some providers maybe have many alts as well :

1.1.1.1 and 1.0.01 being Cloudflare

8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for Google

9.9.9.9 and 149.112.112.112 for Quad9

208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 for OpenDNS

185.228.168.9 and 185.228.169.9 for Cleanbrowsing

8.26.56.26 and 8.20.247.20 for Comodo
