aj styles sig not working

So i've tried several different spots of this, different ringsides, but i can't seem to get aj styles phenomenal forearm move to work, not even popping up, does anyone know what could cause this or is it something im not understanding?

Isn't it a finisher? So you have a finisher stored and have you checked whether the opponent has to be standing or grounded?

yeah, sorry, i've had up to two finishers stored, it says to standing while being ringside, but i've tried both just to be sure and it just doesn't show so i'm not sure why.
