MyUniverse Superstar mode is a broken mess

So I am starting this to vent, don't have anywhere else to complain. I am doing MyUniverse with a CAW in Superstar mode (well honestly I have to switch back to classic mode often becuase of how broken and limited superstar mode is, like so bad it is unplayable in that mode). besides the fact that it is glitchy as hell; such as if you pick to be a manager for an ally it will break the game. Royal rumble bugged out on me one time and somehow removed all win conditions; etc. The focus of my ire right now is the rivalry system which just doesn't work.

So the rivalry actions are hardly even worth it; if you set them up right you might get a 5 second cut scene. There is never any dialogue or promos or trash talking or anything back stage that I have found (you know the kind of stuff that makes WWE entertaining story wise). And the meter I found that is supposed to measure intensity and momentum don't work for me at all. the meter never moves and the intensity never changes.

Oh and if you pick some rivalry actions that switch your superstar out of the match and you are in superstar mode it will break the universe. You will not be able to start the match AND you can't switch back to classic mode in the middle of a show. So if you do this the universe is over and you have to start again assuming you didn't manually make a copy of the save prior to starting the show (honestly the autosave timing on this game seems designed to save at game breaking bugs).

But if that is not bad enough I was playing with the rivarly mode I am currently in and found so many bugs with Rivalry outcomes at the ppv events it is hard to believe so I will start to list them:

1. Rivalry outcomes do not work on any match selection except normal matches AND they do not work if you select it as a championship match. You will not get the cutscene and it will not register the rivalry is over, next week the rivalry is still on and you will get paired up against the rival you just faced again.

2. The rivalries never end. Even if you do get a rivalry outcome cutscene the universe doesn't recognize the outcome at all.

3. Depending on what you selected sometimes the cutscene is wrong. for example I selected outcome to inflict an injury on JBL if I won; which I did. The cutscene showed my cAW as the one injured like I had lost the match. So the cutscene was backwards. Same thing happens sometimes if you select the "loser leaves town" outcome.

4. The cutscene doesn't matter as the injury or leave town doesn't carry over or register to the next week. So what is even the point.

I tried playing with this in so many different ways; experimented with matches to see which worked, tried to in classic mode remove and re-add the rivalry, in classic mode use the "free mode" for the rivalry event actions. I tried to play the PPV on both superstar mode and classic mode. Neither worked.

that doesn't even address how clunky the gameplay itself actually is. Overall this is a terrible game as both a fight simulator, a WWE simulator, and as a character creation RPG experience.

Universe mode is a broken mess period. Its simpler and much less tedious to just play a series of normal non-mode matches and use your imagination, as many of us did in previous years. The mode adds very little to that.

And the only way it will ever get fixed is if players stop buying. Until such time, so long as Myfaction keeps getting money, that's all they will ever care about.

This year was my last, until some serious changes are made.

Yup, what is even the point of having the mode if it is so broken it is little more than a exhibition match randomizer. that is all it seems to be with out broken it is at tracking things. I have not played a wrestling game since the first smackdown versus raw which I remember being worse than here comes the pain. I see it has only gotten worse since. Didn't even attempt to play a wwe game in 15 years. guess I'll give up and check in again in another 15 years.

I have not played a wwe game since the first smackdown vs raw on ps2. Here comes the pain I think was the best I played but now all these years later I thought i would fire up a new one and see what it was like. The experience is so much worse than games from 15+ years ago it is incredible.

It is not just wwe games; gaming as a whole has seemed to not make any progress since about 2012 and gameplay, writing and infrastructure wise they only seem to be getting worse across the board. I am mostly an RPG and sports game player and they seriously has not been a noticeable improvement outside graphics in all the games genres I play.

I am really getting cynical gaming as a whole.

bought this game some months ago. was my first wwe game in like 10 years. and ill gotta admit it will probably be my last one for a long time again. like you said the universe mode is a complete mess and the mechanics are prone to glitch or completely break. theres 0 immersion which also kinda takes a lot of the fun out of the gamemode :/
