Wait... career mode?

There's no proper career mode in this game?
Is "Universe" supposed to be it?
And what is it with all the challenges during a match and if you don't you have to rematch???

Nope. You make the character, they made a storyline with challenges for it. You complete challenges, you complete the story that goes along with them. There's one for a female wrestler, and another for a male wrestler.

If you just want to take a character through the calendar, Superstar Mode in Universe might be more to your liking.

universe has a mode where you can follow a specific wrestler. I think that may be what you are looking for

It's not, it's a scripted story, it's boring as hell, you can't even lose a belt you have to rematch if you lose.

Yeah I agree with this, probably Universe Superstar is closest.
Wish they would let us do something with the other matches, have a power ranking, player can interupt matches to build allies/enemies.

Rather than everything controlled in that menu.
Feel like that menu, where it says do you want to go singles or tag, do you want this or that.

That really defeats the purpose of a career mode, its kinda nice but it doesn't have everything, I feel like the game is revolved around me. It's not so much fun when it revolves around me.

I'm not saying get rid of those options, but needs more improvement outside of the players perspective.

People like to watch AI vs AI in this game, other games, Civilization games, always fun to watch the AI duke it out or form alliances, gang bang other AI or try and gang bang the player.

I'd like power rankings to come back.

Some brand wars, I probably am going to be the best on my brand, a way to represent the brand after finishing business within the brand.

Could be a lot lot better for me, but yes this Universe mode Superstar, at least its there I suppose. Better than nothing.

MyRise, that's just some storyline, I haven't compeleted it yet, but I think people usually ticked off after doing it and wondering why they can't use their MyRise creation in other modes like Universe.

You'd go through a similar to MyRise then, they'd send you to the traditional season mode (similar to Universe mode).
MyRise is basically storyline achievement driven mode. You'll basically goto every brand trying to 100% it, then when you 100% thats that. If you don't 100% it, you switch back to that brand and keep trying and if you can't thats that.
Do the storyline over again. It's not really a career mode, its more a showcase for a creation.

It would seem you haven't played a WWE game in years. MyRIse has been the career mode in the last 4-5 games. MyRise is basically season mode from the SVR days with but with the dumbest storylines you'll ever play. Theres never really been a CAW free play career ever in a WWE game.

Just a point of information, this is only the second game with MyRise which replaced MyCareer which came in for 2K15.

My rise as mentioned above is in its second year and it replaces my career mode.

Universe in Superstar mode is currently broken. I wouldnt recommend it unless you want to play an endless roulette of tag team rivalry matches, Fatal 4 Ways, Tornado Tag Teams and the occasional singles rivalry match.

Universe mode at its current form will never replace a proper career mode.

Its MyRise or nothing.
