Is the creator faster?
Hello. I'm only interested in this game because of the character creator. I've been loving it since Wrestlemania 2000 on the N64. In the past my time must have been 85% spent in those menus.

My main problem with the new games is the slow navigation in the menus. I would press down, wait for an item to load, then press down again to see the next item and eventually I would select it then go to the previous screen to select other types/parts to edit, and all those menus were very slow like sometimes 1-2 seconds to navigate. Has this been fixed in WWE 2K23?

Also did they remove some of the bloat of identical moves and did they tone down the useless moves like weak hits with the forearm, ridiculous massages holds, moves with waste of time like taunts or little dances or at least put an option so we don't have to see them?

Same question with duplicate gear. It's really long to create a character when there are dozens of the same shirts and pants but with different textures and logos. Did they group that up and added options directly on specific unique pieces?

Is short, is the character creator enjoyable to use or is it a chore like in 2k22?

Thanks!

I would love to know as well. We share similar interests.

So, after trying it, it seems like it's faster- with an asterisk.
The pauses for items to load are still there, but they no longer freeze your screen while they're loading like in 2k22.
So, at the very least, I no longer have to keep the cursor moving if I don't want the game to freeze for 1.5 seconds for the item to load.

That is an improvement. I remember that technique very well. Wasn't a fan.

Aha I know exactly what you mean yeah it was infuriating. Well thanks for the test. I'll wait for a discount or I'll wait for the game of the competition...

Usual solution is invest in a faster storage device, it'll slog on a mechanical hdd or entry level ssds... but on a Gen4 speed nvme its not bad at all. I noticed last years edition also had a 8GB floating game cache file on the C: drive... it auto generates if deleted, basically a shader/asset cache of sorts. If you C: drive speed is a weak link, can always try using a dynamic linked file shortcut to force it to a faster drive.

I haven't used a HDD in 10 years. This always has been a known game issue.

It seems to load faster with minor freezing here and there, but they keep downgrading CaW parts. Things that used to work together no longer do. Ex: Hair and face parts or pants and boots.
2k sucks.

what kind of snake oil is this...

this is an engine bottleneck. and your solution is a brain bottleneck on your end

It's basically same as 2K22.
I wish they would make the dozen of the same a plain, then you add on the pictures and what not and other options. Tucked, Loose, etc. and if it had other options too include that in that too, ex. with tights no tights, these specific tights.

Was hoping in regards to creation, when they made 2K22, it wouldn't be like 2K20 and be complete overhaul. Feels like 2K20 though.

I actually find the general speed, load times and responsiveness of the character creator to be a solid improvement over 2k22, which was brutal.
