Ill confirm for everyone if it works or not here shortly and we can put this to rest.
Update* I downloaded onto steam deck hard drive and it worked straight from download. No changes to different proton versions. I couldn't test online bc servers are showing offline(both desktop and steamdeck) but yes it works for single player just fine.

WWE 2k23 really plays well on Steam Deck/SteamOS. With the following tweaks I get virtually constant 60 FPS during gameplay (even in demanding scenarios like 4 on 4 War Games):

1. Game Properties (this seems to grant a healthy performance boost over the default Proton by itself):
- Set Compatibility to GE-Proton7-50 (need to install it first!)
- Set the following Launch Options: RADV_PERFTEST=gpl

2. In Game Graphics Settings:
- Texture Quality: Standard
- Windowed Mode: Yes
- Screen Resolution: 1280x720 (helps to stabilize framerate in the worst case scenarios, but you may)
- VSync: No
- Action Camera FPS: 60
- Model Quality: Standard
- Shadows: On
- Shadow Quality: High
- Shader Quality: High
- Anti-Alias: FXAA (TAA is too hard on the Deck, especially with burning tables in Wargames)
- Reflections: Medium
- Dynamic Upscaling: AMD FSR 1
- Depth of Field: OFF
- Motion Blur: OFF

With these settings, WWE 2k23 still looks good enough and plays well and stable on the Steam Deck under SteamOS.
You are a godsend. Will try this when I get home tonight to test it out as well.

But I am glad it is working.

How's the battery life with these settings?

Without changing anything from default I got 4hrs earlier lol. Could have went more
I just had my first freeze on the deck and it was during a match in universe mode using the settings above, but I forgot to do the proton and launch options. Gonna try that now and see how it works.
Omg, I played all day today with those settings and let me tell you how great those settings were!!!! I think I played like 4 hours until I needed to charge lol crazy!!!! So hype and this game is insane. I’m hooked
does anyone know if the game supports 16:10 resolutions? i hate black bars.

It does not currently support 16:10, per my testing on Laptop and Steam Deck.

For gameplay it does, although the UI and some overlays are still positioned for 16:9.
Note, however, that playing in 720p can yield a bit of performance as the top and bottom "bars" aren't rendered, but it's up to you what you can prefer.

WWE 2K23 support for Steam Deck
Tried playing the game on my Steam Deck. The game works flawlessly. Haven't noticed a single flaw/bug so far. The only concern is the somewhat cropped screen at the top and the bottom, but that's almost negligible.
If you are willing to buy the game for your Deck, go on.
Hope this helps.
Can you confirm if online works without crashing? I enjoy playing myfaction on wwe2k22 and have to stream to the steam deck. I would prefer to play it native?

I thoroughly recommend these settings. I’ve had no crashes or issues since. The only things I’ve done different is used proton experimental and no to windowed mode.

It does not currently support 16:10, per my testing on Laptop and Steam Deck.

It should automatically set it to 1280x800 if you set it to fullscreen mode (which this year is borderless fullscreen) to match the display. The menus will still be 16:9, but the gameplay will be 16:10.
