last gen graphics or next gen ?

The game looks great on next-gen consoles, but what’s the status of the game on PC? The initial WWE 2K23 press release seemed to hint it would still be the last-gen version.

LJ:If you have a good enough graphics card, it is on par with the next-gen consoles. Like, when we're developing the game, we work on PC. All our tools work on PC. We export it out and run it on the consoles. Everything is authored on the computer. So, we're looking at all the stuff at 4K or whatever, and depending on the graphics card, you can have that same experience. Unfortunately, you'll pay a lot more to get that experience, but it's probably easier to find a good graphics card than a PS5 or Xbox Series X at this point.

[Note: In a follow-up, PR confirmed the PC version of WWE 2K23 will be on par with the next-gen console versions in terms of visuals and features as long as you have the GPU to pull it off.]

Hopefully, you guys can ease up on what version 2K23'll run on.

They have confirmed in multiple posts that if you have a good enough rig you can play on ultra settings which is the same as Next gen. This was the same in 22

Old gen or next gen?
I remember seeing an article saying it would be on par with next gen graphics back in February, but looking at the specs I t’s hard to believe it’s next gen.

It's going to be a similar situation as with 2k22. 2K is promoting it as "old gen", however in practice the game will look just as good if not better than on the "next gen" consoles. In 2K22 there was basically no visual difference between PC and PS5 version, there are side by side comparisons on youtube between all versions. Gameplay content was also identical. It's basically the same version.

Ah I see, so it's gonna have the 2k22 type of treatment, it isn't a bad thing Cause I played that on PS5 and PC and barely noticed any differences. This should be a win win then for 2k23 for PC.

Well this is just my guess so nothing official. I would be surprised if there is any difference given how in 2K22 there basically was none.

I'm just hoping you don't need a RTX GPU to have the newer reflections and lighting, i noticed the fire on tables is way better so hoping its not PS5/Xbox exclusive.

No it was not for 22. It had the same treatment not having the special Wcw rey Mysterio Jr excluside to the new Gen on console.

Graphics on par with Next Gen Consoles?
Is this game on par with the next gen versions or is it like last year that was like a PS4 game?

the only difference between last gen and current gen is the texture setting of normal and high, and whether the game can run 60fps on cutscenes (which was patched into pc build fairly quickly, but is already done in 2k23).

PC can be on par with both of those platforms if you have a decent midrange spec (I'd suggest a six core and 2070 for PS5 level parity), there isnt any other differences, wasnt last year either.... was just Sony fanboys pretending it was, the reality was they got a unique rey mysterio skin, thats it.... which was quickly put on custom downloads anyway.

Awesome! Guess that confirms that I will buy on PC. 2K games have always lagged behind on PC, compared to their next gen counterparts. I think NBA 2K for PC is still on the last gen version.

The difference between NBA and WWE is that NBA next gen is literally a different game with different features.

Just one word of warning on PC though, when they patch the game they make you download the entire file for content rather than patch it, so when a update drops expect 20GB+ updates. Limitation of the engine sadly, doesnt appear to be modular design.
