can't find any info about which mobs can be affected by flute which not.

have done few runs and it looks like bosses can't be charmed.
Or I missed something?

In my experience, the flute will not charm bosses, but it will charm eggs that turn into elites and so on. It's a hard build to get going, but because of the way the game is balanced (enemies hit like a truck, especially post-20), it can be super powerful later on.
