One of the best DLCs I've seen
I've had lots of fun with this dlc. Every new character is fun and interesting and very well designed. It's hard to watch the steam rating but in my top5 game purchases in 2024. Frankly it feels like stealing to enjoy something this much that cost this little. Can't wait for the next dlc or what ever game they'll make.

I'm not that enthusiastic about the DLC, but especially the low entry barrier makes this one of my favorite games. A run is just no major commitment and its always fun and interesting.

So yeah. it's great.

There are things in brotato that could be improved and it's not a perfect game but after every run I've won I'm just thinking that was fun. Even most lost runs are fun.

There are players in the DLC I will only play until I get them to D5 and then thats it. For the most part the game is great and the DLC is great. The RNG is too punishing for some characters and too easy for others. We have a few too many weapons and items. I used to see some things regularly and now barely ever. Not sure how that works out. Some characters feel like they are just filling a gap of sorts and really are not much fun. Most are fun though. If I did not care to 100% I would stick to the fun ones and have a ball. Getting to 100% is exhausting me :( I feel once I have done that then I will move on, just like I did for Vampire Survivors (those DLCs became just weird!). Close to 300 hours in.

It's pretty good to have 300 hours from a small game like this. I agree that there sort of are too many weapons since some of them aren't very usable. As the starting weapon only a handful of weapons can win unless you're very very good at the game. I do like the itemization though. Every item has a place in the game and I can't think of anything that's useless. Some items are a jackpot and you definitely take them but there's a situation to take even the worst ones.

Personally I'm working on 100% difficulty 5 and I'm enjoying it a lot. Just did baby and it was fairly hard. I'm not sure how you'd win him with anything but that one special weapon that I won't spoil here. That does feel like a trap but finding out what wins and what doesn't has been a fun discovery for me. It does cut down the replayability a bit and it'd be fun to experiment with different weapons.

I think the devs know who I am and are f*cking with me. The game just got UBER hard for no reason. They don't want me to finish. Wave 19 which is normally pretty sedate run before 20 was a total f*cking nightmare. I have never seen it like this. It is just really bad at the moment. F*cked if I know why. I had a great build but they decided f*ck you, your going to die no matter what. Sigh. Game is F*CKED sometimes.

They did buff wave 19. I haven't had issues with it tho. It's a rough spot to die at anyhow. The game does reward focusing on damage a lot.

19 is a big spike for total health on the screen in Abyss, basically a mini-horde.
You have to have a respectable damage or good survivability to get past it.

Has sniper rifle been buffed down because I am finding it and the nuclear launcher to be milder version of their former selves. Where can I see all the modifications that are regularly done?

Sniper Gun was actually buffed a little in 1.1: their projectiles now mirror the crit chance/damage of the weapon, instead of only having low default values. Patch notes were posted on their Discord and on Steam updates. (Nuke Launcher was unchanged.)

Gangster is done. Driver and Romantic to go. Then I can delete this game. Driver is a see you next Tuesday of a character. Dumbest mechanic so far.

look for the recent thread where i gave a bunch of advice about how to win with diver

once you get the hang of it, you might find it's more fun than you do right now
you might even start using harpoons on other characters like i did afterward :}

sniper gun is definitely really strong, but you need lots of damage and pierce (and giant belt, and baby with a beard) to make it really effective. buy lots of pumpkins, get the pierce penalty down to 0% - it's really meant for after wave 20 because it requires a lot of setup to make it work best.

good luck

Its actually not fun its an RNG chore. If you don't get the right items to pick your not getting anywhere. I am close to getting it done. I just want to finish it now. Sigh games were meant to be fun weren't they? Its like in Vampire survivors all you need is to hack the game (play it a certain way) and nothing much else matters anymore. The options have grown to large and most become meaningless. Shame the last few characters have spoiled the game for me.

So you are not having fun, but you still play it?
Dont you have anything better to do with your time?

I was enjoying the game very much for about 90% of the characters. When I set out to complete it I did not realise that some of these characters would suck balls. However I am close to finishing my goal so I will try my best to have fun with it but alas recent tweaks have not moved the game to a better place for me personally and that is someone who has spent a lot of time to complete all the characters to D5. I imagine some players have struck these characters early on and given up on the game because of it. Shame really as overall the game is great. Finishing it was a goal of mine and has proven to be more of a grind than fun to do for the last 30 or so hours.

Actually add to that the endless grinding of the meaningless first 5 levels which seem to end up with the same amount of money each time makes this game too long. There should be a way to unlock a boost mode to allow players who have achieved certain unlocks to go directly into the game at shop 5 with the amount of money on average they would have earned. This would make the goal of completing say 25% of the characters (the goal persay) more appealing and might have kept more players onboard.

With this many characters, on a game of this price point? You probably should have realized that balance was an impossible task.
