My six shredder weapons do a total of six damage points with those +62% damage... so the game really wants to tell me that without it, I'd do around 2.5 damage points?
Nah, ♥♥♥♥ THAT! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!
I have no idea why the damage output is so low; I can barely kill anything before being overwhelmed at wave 11... on the 0 difficulty stage. 😑
And these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ elite spawners where they spawn this huge elite that shoots three red bullets, forget taking them down with this crappy damage output, might as well give up.
This character sucks.
Yeah... but even while moving this damage buff feels more like a debuff... the damage output is atrocious.
Huh... I died 12 times already...
Four times in "Wave 9" and eight times in "Wave 11".
The elites that spawn from those big pods ♥♥♥♥ me up every time.
Luck became way more useful with the introduction of pearls... cascade that damage.
I believe I haven't played this crash map, yet... only the abyss map.
Edit:
Nevermind, I won two runs on the map called "Crash Zone", with two different characters.
I won 30 runs on the "Abyss" map with 30 different characters.
Worst case there's also that retry mod...

Already tried that... but at Wave 11 I'm being overwhelmed by elites due to a lack in damage output.
You don't need a mod for the retry though... it works endlessly until Wave 20.
1.) My preferred strategy (credit to BeastofBones), is to start SMG, and pick up any of the useful guns since you won't be able to roll early shops as much as you'd want in order to just go full SMG. Basically I'll pick up any of: Shredder, shotgun, smg, revolver, and any higher tier good guns that I find. But beyond that, you pick up early guns as they come, but then you need to slowly start saving as much as you can so that you get up to 300 materials asap, preferably before wave 9 or so. Once you get to 300 materials, this is your new "threshold" for where to buy down to. From that point onward, you buy anything remotely useful in every shop until you are down to as close to 300 materials as possible. This makes it so you can still earn a ton of money each round, but not so much that your percent damage is completely in the gutter. And basically yeah you'll just stand still as much as you can, moving to dodge any incoming threats. You can also opt to go below 300 on an elite round if you think you need to be faster / deal more damage to beat the elite. Also remember to buy anything that counts as a structure, even though you aren't going engineering, it's literally just free armor. So any turrets, landmines, etc. should be purchased.
2.) My less preferred strategy because I find it requires high rolling on a lot of engineering damage, but this strategy is to go Wrenches. The plus side here is that you don't lose any downside for the %damage decrease, and you'll also naturally be building armor by having so many structures, so you can go to your heart's content with saving materials at each shop, you can make your threshold much higher than 300 to buy down to. May main problem with engineering streamer is that as I mentioned before you require enormous amounts of engineering to kill enemies, but since you aren't tagged for engineering you don't have that high of a chance to find enough engineering stats in a lot of runs. Also, I generally find it harder to "stay still" w/ engineering since the turrets don't clear enemies nearly as fast as guns do.
ps: I second wrenches build for starters ( though one may end up not learning much ).
Base shredder damage is 5, only slightly higher than the smg, while firing much slower. You have to make use of the pierce/explosion aspects for it to be any good on its own, and its low base damage means percentage increases are nearly worthless without some flat damage increases first.
As for Streamer in general, its definitely a weird/hard one, but far from impossible. You either have to find a balance between how much you earn vs spend, or hit enough of the right items to be able to just stand there and tank everything.
