Tips for Artificer Danger 5
Hey,

I am really struggling to get an Artificer win on Danger 5. It is so hard because of the reduced armor modifications. How do you approach the Artificer? Do you get a lot of Dodge, do you get armor anyway? Lots of HP with regen?
And do you go for planks to use the bonus to explosion size for elemental damage? Or do you prefer to start with Shredders and go for ranged?
Would be happy to get some tips. :-)

Shredder is a fine start, but you don't have to go ranged damage -- if you check the math, explosion weapons have one of the worst scalings with it.
Nothing wrong with picking up a point here and there ofc.

Your best damage stat is attack speed. Crit is sort of fine, but quite expensive to get up to the point it matters, so its easier to just skip it.

Armor is worth it even later than on other characters, and probably around 10 by the end game including 50% malus.
Dodge and maxhealth are always welcome -- you don't have enough single target damage to clear the screens before anything touches you like a glass cannon build would.
Regen scales poorly into late game messes with items you want to pick up. Your best restore stats are +enemies count, Luck and healing from consumables. Lifesteal is fine as well, but not worth picking up until end game imho.

I wouldn't say Elemental for explosion size is a complete bait, but I think my first win did ignore it (this was months ago, pre Endless). I did an endless run with Planks (explosive melee weapon not sure if that is the name) just pick up all the elemental damage you can AND also grab the ele = eng (unique item quite common if you are stacking elemental damage and free standing turrets / mines). The explosion size gets pretty cracked. If you can get the sauce items too (consumables explode) the size stacking can cover like half the screen easily. Fun time do recommend.
