Handcuffs with Demon?

I just got handcuffs from a crate on my run with Demon. I haven't recycled or anything yet because I'm not sure what will happen. Do I just essentially have unlimited money if I take them or will it just destroy my run from not being able to gain more? Bascially what I'm asking is, does the shop still take from my hp if I have them?

While I haven't tried those with demon I'd imagine it's the same, puts a cap on your max hp but you can still lower it.

it will have both stats at the same time while the first stat (the current one when you bought the item) will be what you can maximally have as a healthbar but the second and hidden (new) healthstat can be higher than this and when u buy an item it will not deplete your first stat (=your actual healthbar) but only your second stat (the hiddne one) if the second stat is high enogh so it wont fall below you maximum health bar that was set by the item ... hope that doesnt sound more complicated than it is ... so to answer shortly: it is a valid buy in the late game at least .. just be aware that your actual healthbar wont rise above the amount you had when you bought the item just like with every other class

It was just incoherent. Here's it in one sentence:

You will still lose HP buying items, and it will cap your max HP like with any other class which makes it an awful buy for Demon unless after wave 19.

The thing is you can increase your max hp beyond the limit set by the handcuffs. Example, you buy handcuffs and cap HP at 50, you can buy more max HP and the game tracks how much. Each round you will start with 50 hp even after buying more though. Now lets say next round you get a cake slice for 3 max HP from a crate. Max HP is now 53, but you play waves with 50, the cap set by handcuffs. You can buy something that costs 3hp as demon with no change to your 50hp limit
