Feeling like round 15 really punishes melee builds
I think melee is already in a relatively weak spot. Round 15 floods the screen with so many projectiles that even stacking armor, dodge, and hp doesn't seem to help without the means to quickly destroy every enemy on screen. On that note, shurikens and slings are op.

only other option I can think of is sausage and stacking elemental dmg and prioritizing elemental melee like torch.

Yes, I really despise wave 14 and 15, for melee builds are just huddling in the corner and trying to outlast the timer.

just kill the lava coomers

I just try to kill the first few spawners and the ranged units they spawn, then try to avoid killing them to lower the density of the red projectiles, then end up waiting out in a corner and dodging projectiles. I find this the most consistent way to survive this 2 waves, but pretty pathetic situation for melee builds.

Just dodge
is round 15 the bullet tentacle debut?

if you can keep the mid relatively clear then you want to be there so you catch more of the bullet spawners as they run around

if you cant keep the mid clear then go to a corner and just focus dodging the projectiles
Lightning Shiv and your problems are gone.
Range and therefore projectiles are always far superior than melee in any ARPG game.

This is truly the Dark Souls of twinstick shooters.

It all depends on how you approach the situation.
These waves punish close-range non-DPS builds with uncontrolled extra damage. If your damage is properly controlled, you can a) avoid popping too many tentacle enemies at once; b) block as many shooting enemies as possible by standing on their X'es; c) kill shooting enemies ASAP. Each tentacle-looking enemy spawns 3 shooting enemies.

If you have enough DPS, you can just kill everything faster than it spams shots.

It's essentially a dps/mobility/defense check...if you don't have enough damage to take the little guys out or are too slow to catch up to them and don't have dodge/armor/life/regen, you're gonna have a bad time even with ranged weapons.

I usually have enough damage+speed to run to each tentacle and clear the spawns before they become an issue.
