if you can keep the mid relatively clear then you want to be there so you catch more of the bullet spawners as they run around
if you cant keep the mid clear then go to a corner and just focus dodging the projectiles
Range and therefore projectiles are always far superior than melee in any ARPG game.
These waves punish close-range non-DPS builds with uncontrolled extra damage. If your damage is properly controlled, you can a) avoid popping too many tentacle enemies at once; b) block as many shooting enemies as possible by standing on their X'es; c) kill shooting enemies ASAP. Each tentacle-looking enemy spawns 3 shooting enemies.
If you have enough DPS, you can just kill everything faster than it spams shots.
I usually have enough damage+speed to run to each tentacle and clear the spawns before they become an issue.
