Remote Play Together - lag/freezing
Is anyone else having frequent performance issues or freezes for the remote players when doing coop? Maybe worse with more players and/or more enemies? I've been trying to play with 2 friends, and it's totally fine in the menus and the first few seconds of gameplay, but it seems like once effects like explosions or bullets start happening, the remote players get a red "connection problem" icon and the game totally freezes for them, until the end of the round, and then it's fine again until the next freeze.

We've tried swapping who hosts the game but it doesn't seem to matter. We all have good PCs and internet connections, so it's really baffling why a relatively simple game like Brotato is having this trouble.

Everything seems fine on the host side - they just notice that the remote players suddenly stop moving. Host doesn't see any freezing/stuttering.

It's better to use parsec instead of remote play together.

But also do expect some lag at some point ( if you play endless ).
It's inevitable.

Thanks for the suggestion! I hadn't heard of Parsec before. We'll give it a try!

For sure, when things get really crazy in endless, I expect some lag, but this was straight up freezing solid for the remote players for all but the first few seconds of each wave. Definitely seems like something weird specific to Brotato (or the Godot engine?) because we've never seen something like that before.

I bet you won't be disappointed by parsec ( I use it for anything local coop ).
It might require a little client/host tweaks before running properly ( especially with more than 1 extra players ) but it's worth the deal.

Apart from that, which wave one will start suffering from lag is... pretty random I guess ( my cpu/gpu usage was below 20% and ram wasn't that high too... so I don't relly know what to think ).
