On linux (proton) my progression gets deleted everytime i quit the game.
IIRC its fairly easy to compile to Linux with godot

Yup. If GodotSteam is used it provides its own Godot templates.
EDIT: Infact I downloaded the same godot version used here and it started.

Proton bug is fixable, check Brotato on ProtonDB to see how

It is not working on Linux Ubuntu 23.04. It starts to show godot and it's logo, then crashes and I can click play again. I am using proton 8.0-2

same issue here on archlinux with 6.4.7 kernel and proton experimental
