Early wave can make a huge difference, how your Eco will be later. What do you expect, start at wave 5 with which stats (very depending on character) and which items (very depending on character, and can create a huge difference in Eco).
You have to describe in more details, what you would expect from a start into a later wave.
What OP asked is pretty clear but I suppose I have to explain it.
OP want to skip early waves so they'll want to start at wave X with a certain amount of cash and levels.
This shouldn't be too hard to make even if you are mentionning the RNG (that is not light in this game), all it need is an average value for each characters and dev could also throw 2 sliders for that option (min - max level/money).
So if the average money players have with Goku at level 1000 is 10 billion buckazoid and level 99 999 999 then that's what the player will get with such option.
This could also have the average of current player run but that mean the game will need to collect your data on that.
Feel free to ask if you still don't understand, despite being easy to understand maybe you understood something wrong or a word wrong (that happen, no shame in admitting that you've made a mistake or asking for help, forums are here for that too), I'll be glad to help you if that's the case.
Option 1&2 is fine probably
Option 3 is probably unrealistic
Option 4 would be nice, but means more maintanance
As for my personal thoughts about this idea. I don't like this idea at all personally. Games should be fun, if the player think of something as a chore they shouldn't play it, that the reason why I don't like mobile games for instance. And I get you, I also use "Hurry" mode on VS when new stuff get's released. I do that because I don't actually want to play the game, I just want to get done with new achievements. I'd even do them on an egged character. At this point VS is also a chore for me.
Putting in a "skip part of the game" function, feels like the dev's saying, "Yeah, I know my games boring, here you can skip part of it". Does not feel right to me.
But if it's on easy solution, and it might bring more fun to some players, who am I too judge. I don't have to use it. Thou i'd prob disable unlocks/achievements in shortened modes like Bounty of One does.
Well skipping ahead doesn't mean that devs agree that a part of his game is boring, it could be a challenge for good players because they'll get the average ressourcess instead of the best they could have - RNG, and the not so good players may get more ressourcess because they usually get less than the average IF the average is based on everyone, so it's hard to really talk about such system when for now it can have multiple outcomes along many variables.
IMO such option could please all players and since it's an option nobody is forced to use it, also now that I'm writting this it would be great for endless mode because if you can reach wave 50 without much trouble it would be kinda boring to restart from scratch, so OP idea can be used on both mode.
But this doesn't simulate the resources though. If you skip a wave you miss those materials too.
Skip up to X waves thinkin 10 should be the limit or why even play.
Pick appropriate upgrades
Pick a random amount of Crates
Should calculate level ups.
Give an appropriate amount of materials
give random collection of tier1 items
give random set of tier1 weapons
It shouldnt be TOO good or it really defeats playing at all IMHO.
Maybe give 4 or 5 0 cost rerolls on first purchase screen
