Speedy help

I thought to unlock Speedy you needed 50 speed. I got 59 speed before dying and he didn't unlock. Am I missing something??

Maybe you need 50 permanent speed, it's been some time since I have unlocked the best character.

What do you mean by permanent speed? Isn't it always permanent?

Jousting Lance gives you non permanent speed.
Dunno on the top of my hat if there are more.

jousting lance is a weapon you get from beating the game with Speedy though.
I know temporary negative speed is there for Streamer, but I honestly don't remember anything temporary positive, that would impede the Speedy unlock.

Shackles, since it will lock your speed I guess you could have 59 speed but it's actualy locked at 30 for exemple.

Maybe the speed buff from golem when at 50% health won't count too.

i pretty sure the unlock for beating the game with speedy is the fin item.

I got over 50 speed on multiple runs, most of which I was using the Well Balanced character.
