Unfortunately it's possible to restart a level
By exiting to the start menu.
That's why I've also stopped playing Slay the Spire. I prefer to know that there is no way back. Kind of changes (or defines) the gameplay, like in Binding of Isaac

You are absolutely right.
Some people are self-aware munchkins, and it's a huge relief when a game deals with that
