Inferior Pickle Pete clone? Update: It's not ;)
I have not researched anything, so I don't know if there's a sensible reason, but this game looks and plays exactly like "Pickle Pete" on mobile, but has no progression or upgrades to make you stronger between runs...

Edit: I updated the title because it's not correct. The rest of my post is still fine. Sorry for the butthurt I caused to some ;) GOGO Brotato Devs! <3

You know, I had to search Pickle Pete because I was not sure if you were trolling or not and the answer is that this game does exist.

Yes they do look similar and I'll be honest it does look better than Brotato, heck it doesn't seem to have FPS drops unlike brotato. Now I want to play Pickle Pete.

I usually don't mind these "clones" at all when talking about these kind of mobile games. Played a lot of them, and as long as you put your own little spin on it, I'll be entertained for a while. But this one seemed so similar, the way it looks, the way it plays, the way upgrades work, even the attack patterns of bosses etc... I mean, who cares in the grand scheme of things, and good luck to the dev/devs. But it really jumped at me...

to be fair though, looks like pickle pete was released this year in january. Brotato on the other hand was playable in 2022.

Because a game launched first doesn't mean that it never copied anything.

Thats not what i was going to say. But saying X copied from Y when it was probably the other way around isnt fair. So people should at least know when each game released if they see this thread.
But sure everyone can play whichever game they more like

Can you prove that PP copied brotato ? Because PP seem to have a lot more to offer in the end.

Brotato full version release was yesterday.

Dunno why you want that so clearly? Its like you think i try to talk PP bad, but all i wanted was to give more informatiosn to this post, which on the other hand clearly tried to make Brotato look as a "bad clone". Games taking inspiration from other games isn't bad. And it makes sense that those that take inspiration from exisiting games add new stuff to it to make their game unique.

But sure you could read the reddit post i linked earlier about the pickle pete release. They even listed the games they took inspiration from in there and Brotato was one of it.

I don't like to click links on steam, always afraid of getting hacked, I don't want to lose my only account with +200 games especialy since I bought Yakuza gaiden and gal guardians.

I've been playing Pickle Pete for weeks now, and I just saw Brotato release yesterday. Also I said, I usually don't care if games "copy" other games. In this case it just seems they did not add anything at all, instead took out the thing that motivates to keep on playing. Also PP is f2p. All the power to the devs, if so many people pay to play their game ;) still a little icky to me, thats all.

I see no problem, it's not against the rules is it ?

Yes you've said "lots of people hate "progression" and I'm telling you that it's not true otherwise Vampire Survivors wouldn't be so popular, so only a minority of players hate "progression".
