Luck and its seeming draw irrelevance
I have a lot of fun trying out builds and exploiting game mechanics to see what I can achieve, but I always come back to the issue of Luck having no impact on the draws I get in the store or when leveling up.

I’m sure in the backend that there is an affect on which items and weapons appear in the draws, but after about 50+ games in the new Beta 1.0, I find in practice that I have the same chance of finding a Legendary if I have negative luck as I do with 300+ Luck. Ideally one would expect more commons with negative Luck, but that isn’t the case. The same for high positive Luck, but I never get more Legendaries than negative luck. As well, I have never gotten one of the new Legendary weapons in a normal run pre-20, they only show up in endless mode at around 30-40 despite having 300+ Luck to try them out.

My request is that you review and consider updating the calculations for Luck driving draws to increase the affect on Common draws for lower luck more clearly, as well as increase Epics and Legendary draws on high Luck. At this time, it seems to do nothing.

Thanks for reading and making a fun game

I didn't see the formula but from my experience it seems that the higher the shop the higher your chances are to find high tier stuff, so you have that + luck.

Wich mean you could have -20 luck at shop 18 and get stuff higher than tier1.

You'll have to deal with RNG since in 1-2 days update 1.0 is here wich mean we probably won't see such a huge change now.

yeah that kinda true, i think it's made in that way cuz in normal run you want to see usual and rare items too , luck don't decrease their chances and even without luck they are caped at wave 0 for usual and 11 for rare (blue)
and having more than 50-100 luck for items it's just waste of money
you can have 4000 luck and still get shop with 4 usual (grey) items

Yes, the shop level seems to impact what drives the draws the most. I am kinda hoping in the future that this system could be considered for improvement. Too many of the Legendaries that are relevant to a run like Anvil, Sifd's, Extra Stomach, or the new Legendary weapons don't show up until you are at the end of a run no matter the Luck, which is rather frustrating.

Thanks for replying

Tier-2 and Tier-3 stuff does get capped (60% and 25% respectively), so Luck stops mattering for them late enough into the run. 0 Luck is still enough to reach this cap for blue items by Wave/Level 11, and enough to get cap purple by Wave/Level 16.

Tier-4 stuff requires being on Wave/Level 7 or higher, but from there Luck is always helpful for finding more of them. For example, your odds of being offered a tier-4 item at Wave 15 is 1.8% at 0 Luck and 7.4% at 300 Luck.

Thank you for the information, but still that far far too low if you are trying to find new content or build significant items to make the run shine. Most players will never see the new Legendary weapons with those kind of odds even if they invest in luck. In addition, most of the Legendary items are unhelpful in Endless so that you almost never get to integrate the Legendary into your build when it matters.

I have never seen Excalibre or the Drill in my play time (Only know they exist because of YouTubers despite hours of play), nor do I know if there are other added weapons because investing in Luck does not help you see the new content or the most valuable items when they are relevant. While I understand that you want replayability, and Legendary items should be a special occasion for a run, I hope that the Dev considers being more generous to players regarding experiencing the full content of this game if they invest in Luck so that they actually get to use the items when they are relevant well before level 20.

Mmmmmh you could use Cheat Engine in order to have max luck or something, ask Thunda he know how to use it well since he can do stuff like have 1000% attack speed. Maybe he can even do stuff like changing item drops without changing luck stats or something like that, like 1 luck actualy count as 10 luck or drop rate are higher by default.

I had 1500 luck today and I can't say I was seeing better items.
It was pretty underwhelming.

Made the game crash though.

I know the Rainbow Chest solves custom build runs, but I rather enjoy the game as intended. Kinda like watching Sifd play back in the day. Yeah it's neat to see 100 padding on a character, but it stops being a game at that point.

you can check mod that allow you to ban items and gun , i think that is neat balanced mod (baning items is not free)

I'll answer both of you in one answer: I didn't check the workshop because the game is not complete yet and I do like a good challenge so from what I understand most mods make the game easier wich is something I don't want, I want a harder difficulty that really push me to the limit (while not being RNG heavy if possible).

So maybe once the game is done, there is one challenge I've found that really keep me up: Fisherman, taking baits everytime, can't skip them. It turn the game into Touhou but it's pretty fun.

Errrr I'm kinda going off-topic so I'll stop here but yeah i didn't think about it made there is a mod that would do the job instead of using Cheat Engine, well if mods are not up to date you could always that person, I don't think that cheating devices care about updates, trainers do IIRC, so more options. Maybe asking the dev for a luck slider or a new game mode that make it easier to get legendary items would work, if it's locked behind a "clear the game with all characters" or "unlock all achievements in order to unlock that mode" would fit, of course some may want a "clear D5 with all characters" but players will complain I suppose.
