Slingshot lifesteal on each attack or each bounce? I know lifesteal tooltips says attack but wanted to make sure

i'm having a hard time with saver D5. i've done best with slingshot so far but wondering if slingshot should be lifesteal or hp regen. im having trouble and usually die around the first elite stage

Iirc it does, but you shouldn't go either.
Go Luck, consumable bonus etc, box-healing. There is no point of going any other healing method on a character that has no explicit synergy with it.

If you want to pick one, lifesteal is probably better, because there are a lot of good items that sack regen (mouth, 20 luck potion etc), and lifesteal items generally sack something irrelevant for slings like elemental damage.

As the other guy said, neither of those are enough healing for people who need healing. You want Luck for consumables, which with careful movement can allow you to stockpile healing for when you need it (on top of the stat's other benefits).

thanks for the tips. im now able to kill more and have an easier time up to wave 11,

but im still having a hard time with saver d5 on wave 11 horde wave. by wave 11 I already had all these but still got overwhelmed and wasnt even killing anything. or anything that was dying i couldnt get to the healings because there were still just too many
-2 iv, 2 iii, 1 ii, and 1 i slingshots

-50~ luck
-1k gold
-only items i really try to buy up to that point are trees or healing

ive finished a bunch of other d5's without issues but ive been stuck on saver for more than 10 hours... ive tried defense build, offense build. literally nothing works on stage 11 horde or 12 elite

That's actually a very good setup for wave 11, I'm surprised you got overwhelmed.

Tbh I'm not sure slingshots are even good on saver.
His mid-game often consists of a lot of sitting around on the money with underleveled weapons and low flat damage.
He wants something with high base damage that can make use of his passive and doesn't need flat to be relevant. In a way you can play him like fisherman -- spears, sticks or shields.
And then you can bounce off into first encountered big weapon like rocket launcher/nuke.

Saver's dream build is padding x3 + potato launchers + some pierce/bounce, but it is not that easy to hit.

Well I did 2 run with Saver in D5, one where I started thief knifes then switching to shields for an easy tanky build BUT the game didn't cooperate so I ended up winning with 4 shield, one rocket launcher, one thief knife, and a lot of damage% because the game somehow think I wanted to go heavy damage and no monkey......

So I've done another run AND STILL GOT EXTREMELY BAD RNG (3 monkey this time, one would have been enough) but the game is heavy on RNG when you want to do a specific build especialy one that is a bit complex.

PS: After playing the game in D5 182% for so long (a lot with speedy) I have to ask.... is the game supposed to be that slow or Is it a bug with OBS that slowdown the game ? (Had that with gal guardians: Demon purge).

just tried a few melee builds and still couldnt win against horde. i give up.

i thought this build was good, had around 1k gold after a few seconds of the wave but still got overwhelmed

I feel like you overbuy weapons and underbuy useful items.

Granted, it was still miserable because I didn't get any Speed rolls on levelups, but the combination of Luck and consumables upgrades made it possible to sustain through the horde.

Yeah, tier 4 weapons are a "nice to have" not something you should even necessarily have at the end of the run. Especially as a character for whom not spending your materials is a legitimate choice.

Yeah you focus far too much on weapons, on a previous reply you could see that I won with only 1 tier 4 thief dagger and the rest are crappy tier for the most part, you need some form of sustain and you need items.

Like a bit of HP regen (1 or 2) for wave 4 to 9 is all the healing you'll need (but if you find monkey take it, I'm talking about the bare minimum).

You don't need to kill the elites and kill the bosses in order to win you can let the timer run out, so don't focus too much on saver strength, at worse if you really want to kill them you could save for 1-2 round before the wave.

the image i posted was probably the only one where i didn't have any items lol

ive done several builds with several tree items, + healing from conumable, medic turrets, pretty much sustain items, lots of luck, and overall good stats, all good tiered weapons and several damage with 1k gold saved up. literally nothing works. an issue with the first horde stage is that no amount of healing, defense, attack or anything works. you just get swarmed and no amount of damage apparently helps

Saving money is fine and all but if you just want to beat D5 it's not important to have that much money saved if you die in the end.
