I found him really strong once I (think I) solved him..
I took sheers and focused on damaging enemies with the fruits.. Once you stack the damage from the fruit a bit you can kill bosses pretty quickly with them and clear entire areas really fast.. I made sure to focus on explosion size increase.. And stat was I went attack damage>dodge>armour>luck
Also make sure to grab any + health from pickups items
Go 6 Pruners, and keep upgrading Melee Damage to improve the explosion damage of your fruits.
Keeping moving towards another fruit to clear out a pack of enemies. To do so, you need defenses, so also focus on HP, Armor, and Dodge.
Harvesting isn't necessary, but I did try it out and got lucky with item drops.
that sounds interesting, i'll try that thanks for the advice !
so my mistake is to not play around the fruits enough ? like this character just can't perform if not using that specific gameplay in D5 ?
But once I solely focused on getting fruits, it became much easier to min-max. I just needed more Melee Damage and Luck to boost my fruit damage, and three defense stats to move from fruit A to fruit B without taking too much damage.
I think Pruners and fruits are important factors of Glutton's winning strategy. Players better than me could potentially win without them, but since I have unlocked all available achievements, I don't think I'm that bad at the game either.
was it in Danger 5 though ? When trying anything else than Pruners, it just felt like I couldn't eat enough fruits and scale enough, then the item price and the lack of exp just made it too difficult at some point
Worst case scenario, you'll end up with a lot of gardens and a lot of fruit kaboomers, allowing you to just sit on top of the gardens while the bosses are getting exploded.
Also, something that might not be clear in-game: Improved Tools, which "increase the attack speed of structures", also affect gardens and med turrets. An incredibly valuable item if you go the Pruners route.
