Last time I tried I got ONE Flamethrower after wave 19 with mage, having spent about 4000 materials on rerolls in total that run for the singular goal of getting a flamethrower or two.
Same thing happens with Sniper Guns for Hunter. Go ahead try that.

I will try out your tips and probably when the game recognizes it, it will give me the flamethrower as I am not trying to get it anymore. :D

Btw. I don't know, why there is no preview to the screenshot...
There's also an overabundance of items with other classes too, the most flagrant for me is the demon class with whom I gets way too many ghost scepters, talking about at least 1 per fresh shop (the first shop after completing a round) then 1 every 2 reroll max. The Knight seems to be getting a ton of spiked shield very easily too, about 1 per 2 shop.
Have you guys noticed any pattern, similar or not, with some classes and weapons ?
Can only assume that flamethrower isn't tagged for mage and maybe isn't tagged correctly for elemental. Starting with heavy weapons seems like a much easier way of getting offered a flamethrower.
As for why shields are tagged for knight despite having negative synergy dunno, flavor reasons?
