Hot new strats to win D5 as Wildling that experts don't want you to know.
TL:DR ignore the horrible primitive stuff, and just do an elemental build

Because 25% lifesteal on terrible short range slow melee weapons just does nothing.

You do know that the lifesteal only works with primitive weapons, right? So you're pretty much playing a character that can only equip T2 elemental weapons with no extra benefit. He is actually pretty decent with sticks, so I don't see why you would want to play him this gimped.

I do indeed.

Why not play literally any other character then?!

Also Singshot is the most overpowered weapon in the game and it's primitive. Stick stacking still works too.

It is very difficult to defeat Wildling on D5 by playing a character that is not the Wildling.

Starting slingshot with -3 ranged damage and being capped on blue items is miserable.
I did similar trick, but instead of going for discount mage I went for discount knight and switched to full medi saw and melee damage build.

Only if you're REALLY unlucky. It's unusual, in my experience, to still be in the Melee or Ranged Damage hole by the end of the 3rd wave. After that, it's fine.

You do get punched in the ♥♥♥♥ twice -- first by having to start from a -3 ranged damage disadvantage (same as 6 melee gold-wise, so a lot really) and second time by having lategame limited to half the potential bounce amount and mediocre base damage at best on blue slingshot.

Nothing you cannot come back from, but it does feel like trying to play pacifist with damage stacking, rather than weapons a character is supposed to be good with.

Being limited to blues does allow you to spend your money elsewhere, though. I like having all that extra money without needing to worry about weapon upgrades.

lol, i won D5 building luck and oddballs. Got 7 oddballs, was fun. He was my last D5 character for completion, and i got so bad runs on him that i gave up building primitive

lol wtf is this advice, just use cactus and lance they're super good on him. pump armor dodge and damage you don't need to focus on regen

Just stack sticks lol, I know it's funnier on multitasker but there is genuinely nothing wrong with the full stick build. I beat D5 first or second try with it.
