Does the game have meta progress ?

So do you get some sort of meta reward for each run ? Or is it like a SPELUNKY affair where you just have to GIT GUD?

dont you see all the ????? you can unlock? thats the meta progressing

edit: oh you dont own the game, yes there is meta progressing, unlocking new stuff if you doo the ???????? challages

i wish there's more though
some of the items unlocks are quite underwhelming (that said, there's some really good ones)

wasent meaning for it to sound rude, text doesnt give voice and body language, when you boot in and see all the ?????? when you go to start a run thats what your trying to unlock, and harder challages

no meta just unlocks. u beat a run and gain a new item or character for the next run. that is it.

Horizontal progress, not vertical. You don't get stronger, you simply unlock new characters and items.

Different, not necessarily stronger. Some of the unlockable characters are really weak.

they are only weak if you dont play into their strengths

Actually, it makes you weaker. By adding more and more items into the possible shop offered item pool, you have less and less of a chance to get what you want. Thus is the nature of RNG.
