* Ghost. Every run is a coin toss. Strategy boils down to stacking enough HP to survive 2 hits and be lucky enough not to take 3 in a row. When you win it doesn't feel like its deserved
* Wildling. When his own melee weapon is almost strictly worse than medical saw even including the inherit passive you know something is messed up.
* Soldier. Optimal gameplay includes breaking your keyboard, and stationary items in general are a mess.
Rest are fine imho even if some of them are weak.
And different people pointing at different characters being weak kinda proves that point.
For me Chunky is quite easy since its rework (just stack shields), Explorer is somewhat unreliable but relatively easy with good start (trees, luck and movement speed) and Saver was such a nightmare I had to cheese him with some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Gladiator: This guy is just complete garbage. I am pretty sure you're suppose to ignore his garbage passive and just go for 1 or 2 weapons and play him like a standard character, because having 6 different weapons is completely trash.
Soldier: An immobile class in a game that requires constant movement (especially vs the bosses and elites), what more is there to say.
Ghost: Haven't attempted D5 with this guy yet, but just looking at his passive scares me.
One Arm: RNG fiesta, you either get your weapon upgrade or you lose. Not very fun. He is very strong when you get what you need, though.
Am I the only one who thinks the sticks are underrated? Cheap, easy to stack and do a lot of damage when you find enough of them.
- Ghost and One Armed are a bit on the RNG side for sure.
- Hunter. I did some D5 wins with Hunter, but always struggled. He's way too squishy, and crossbows aren't that great. I didn't try with other weapons yet, maybe there's something better than crossbows.
- Artificer: because he has a hard early game. Planks are super risky to use because he doesn't have a lot of armor, and Shredders just lack damage. I never had an easy run with him (at least until late game).
- Entrepreneur. For the same reason: he really has a hard early game. Sure, he's the most broken character in the game if you survive until late-game. The problem is getting there.
Other chars I find tricky are: Saver, Explorer, Engineer and Bull. Again, chars that struggle in the early game (which is the hardest part of the game since the patch).
Soldier isn't bad once you know how to play it. Chunky is actually super strong since the patch. Gladiator is also quite strong. Pacifist is super easy and so is the Farmer if you play him like a Pacifist.
Wildling and Multitasker would be bad if Sticks didn't exist. Fortunately, they do.
But overall, no char feels really impossible to do. I completed all chars in D5 on the new patch and I never had to reset a tons of time for any char.
The first 4 take out a major element (weapon upgrades, movement, spending money, and playing the game respectively) and replace it with less fun.
Artificer I'd describe as awkward. Most taters are fun to play or powerful or easy or varied. Artificer is none of those.
I dont have an issue with any of the others power.
Scaling weapons have +10 damage which is amazing for early game scaling.
Recently I have felt that all the heroes were a lot easier to win after they added the extra money and elites. I won 3 diff 5 games in a row last night which I did not expect.

Took me 2 tries for the Entrepreneur but then I won old and speedy right after in 1 try.
I don't think I was ever able to win that consistently in the past.
I haven't finished a run with Engineer (been doing them in order) because turrets and mines suck ass for bosses.
I was able to win engineer difficulty 5 by focusing on tier 2 wrenches and then tier 4 wrenches. The tier 1 and tier 3 ones are not as good. I also bought no screwdrivers or other weapons to increase wrench drop rate.
Engineering is actually really good at D5. Engineering in general is trash, but it works well with him. Don't try and kill bosses, just kite around and stutter step the patterns.
Pacifist is also supposedly one of the strongest characters in D5, I personally haven't been able to make it work, though.
Also Ghost is not bad, but you probably want sell you starting Ethreal weapon at wave 1 and try to find something better.
