Then always pick some HP max and damages and choose between a build regen + armor or a build attack speed + life steal
To the OP, defenses are very important. Don't skip them. Weapons can be combined if you get 2 of the same rarity. That will uptier them from white > blue > purple > red. It is generally better to make sure you have 6 weapons than to combine them. After that you should combine as you get more weapons later. You are usually better off focusing on 1 or 2 weapons, combining them up as high as possible. For example most people will end with 6 red / purple of all the same weapon, say shotguns etc. Weapons have tags, so if you have 6 "Gun" tagged weapons, they will increase your weapon range by 50 (I think this is from memory).
Your first 4-5waves you want to focus completely on just getting 6 weapons.
Usually of the same kind. The more you have of the same kind the more chance of getting that particular weapon again you have.
Don't buy anything else on those waves, unless it's Coffee, Trees or lumberjack shirt.
Generally up to wave 10-12 you want to focus on increasing your damage, attack speed and weapon level upgrade over survival stats.
Try getting your movement speed to 10% at least too and luck to 10.
It's very important to be able to kill the small enemies with one hit.
The faster you kill them the faster they respawn and you snowball with more income.
After that try to balance out damage and start increasing your survival stats more.
Try using full Slingshots if you are playing a ranged character or full Fists or Sticks for a melee character, they are really strong and scale well.
If your character doesn't start with one and you want one, you can just sell your weapon at the first shop and reroll until you get one.
If you don't get the one you want simply restart the run.
Its much easier than before, I clear d5 on respawn, no offence but its literally a skill issue.
Thanks a lot for the valuable input! Seems like with brotato you actually have to think about your build :D Coming freshly from VS, it's quite different since VS was at no point like "really" challening.
Yes. Or 3 things! In my most recent well-rounded D5 win posted in the win thread my build was a mixture of melee, ranged and elemental. And I started with sticks and ended with no sticks and some random lightning sword for some reason :-)
Make sure you have enough attack speed along with your damage to clear the mobs or you will be overrun in the mid game (coffee is an excellent item).
L2P issue. Calling the game trash because you are not very good at it yet just proves what is wrong with gamers these days. You just picked it up and you expect to be able to clear it with ease. smh...
The bosses pattern is actually not all that random, it's very easy to predict and move out of when you get used to it. It gets a lot harder when you have to dodge 2 bosses at once on the hardest difficulty.
