Why not full SMG's while pumping flat ranged. Should be more powerful, especially against elites and bosses.
Sticks are generally better here but lately I have been clearing everyone with slingshots and I did quite well with them on multitasker. Attack speed and range damage on them (leech also works well). Of course, you should put luck in first to get multiple copies in shop for the most rebound out of them.
-40% base damage is not that bad. Once rebounds start to bounce you can confortably invest in that damage for range buffs which are quite common and cheap (the worm one and the face one?).
I am not saying it's perfect build but it worked for me.
I mean, I would hope shurikens and crossbows to get buffed but it's probably easier to nerf one thing than buff the others.
The DPS, knockback, and both sets granting extra dodge meant I was not getting touched.
Hardest win yet, though. I have two more 'taters to unlock and Soldier is my most challenging.
Screwdriver - still one of the worst weapons, the mine damage just bad, even with explosion radius can't beat D3
Wrench - not much better than Screwdriver, but at least i completed D3 with it.
You only want more weapons(Fist/Hand) as soon as possible if you are doing a Pacifist-like run.
I find It's usually much better to upgrade your current weapons rather than get more of them with lower damage.
For example Ethereal melee weapons, Slingshots, Shurikens and Crossbows all benefit way more from getting upgraded than having more of them.
Once you feel your damage output is good enough you can start adding more weapons, but only do that in the later stages.
