Having Luck can help when upgrading and for certain skills. You'll also get "free", stackable bonuses for every like weapon you have in your arsenal (e.g., having multiple Guns will give you better Range, Knives will improve your Critical, Sticks are just... savage, and so forth). Don't be afraid to reroll for better level up abilities and gear, or picking a lower-grade option if it improves your current character overall.
Learn what stats to ignore or weaken for better gains for your current build, and sacrifice those early gains like Harvest for survivability assets in later waves. For instance, max HP (and HP-generating abilities), Speed, Armor, Dodge, and the like aren't very important in the early waves since there are fewer enemies and they don't hit too hard yet, but become more important in later ones (and if your current build supports them) as enemies become more numerous and stronger. Likewise, early skills like Harvest become less useful in later waves as more enemies appear on the screen and you should redirect your focus on your ability to clear them.
Hope that helps. Give some of these ideas a try! Good luck and have fun in your future runs! Cheers!
I did hit the jackpot with 3 of those purple helmets tho, which was nice.

Warrior sucks big time, working on beating game with him now
I also haven't got to wave 12 with a few, one-arm and warrior and pacifist and dumb. I'm sure many players are better at this type of game, but I can't help thinking the game is rather unbalanced.
It seems ridiculously easy to win with loud compared to any of the more difficult potatoes, and melee is weak compared to range, both intrinsically because of melee weapons not firing at enemies out of range and having much lower range, and because of bandana and ricochet. But it's been fun with the potatoes where I found a winning build.
