Not open world?
At Gamescom they said it`s linear.

Original Mafia and Mafia Remake both are open world, but more linear in story-telling. I bet this one will be the same. You are able to explore the world and there are things here and there, but it's heavily story-driven and you always have a distinct goal whenever you hit the town.

This is very good information. Semi open world like Mafia/Mafia II and it'll be good.

and awesome, open world in mafia alaways sucked

With the exception of Mafia 3, all Mafia games were linear. The open world was more of a backdrop to the story.

When it's like Mafia 1/2, the game will be awesome.

Honestly, I hope its more like Mafia 2 in that regard. Give us other things to do with money, like it did in Mafia 2. Buying suits, earning cars and customizing them, etc. I LOVE the original Mafia and the remake is good, but I will want more things to do in the world rather than just going from point A to point B with nothing else to do.

Hard pass then. Open world is the reason I played this.

And if it's linear why it took them this long to release it? Should've been in 2022.

lol they haven’t released it because it’s not done? Also they tried an open world Mafia and it was the worst one.

What "semi"? They're full open worlds.

I simply don't want it if it's a linear game, open world or not. I felt Mafia 1 remake was a wasted opportunity and a waste of a beautifully crafted map.

I LIKED spending time doing all those missions, building my empire in Mafia 3, it was immersive and i enjoyed the "repetition".
