It all started with a Turkish user asking for Turkish localization in Mafia but then another user came and basically said "learn english like the rest of us". This makes no sense like remove all languages then? Anyways, the screenshot of the thread was shared in different social media platforms and other Turks came here to demand Turkish language support. The language problem has been a matter of debate for few years now in Turkish gaming community and although some game companies like Ubisoft, 2K, Rockstar have great player base in Turkiye, they have never included Turkish to their game, which started to feel like such intention is purposeful and racist.
For the Valve situation, Valve removed every Turkish comment to Ukranian thread instead of transfering them to the most popular Turkish thread. You can see that thread in the 57th page of the Ukranian thread. Thus, what Valve did is kinda racist and people are trying to understand the logic behind their action.

"Mafia: The Old Country > General Discussions" this is not valve breadcrumb. it's mafia forum page bro.

Why is Valve putting Turkish language requests under Ukrainian language requests?

I really don't understand. Hundreds, even thousands of people started to open threads about Turkish language requests to voice their requests. However, it seems that Valve considered this as spam and merged it under Ukrainian language requests. However, considering that so many people requested it, they could have put them under a special Turkish language request thread.

Currently, due to Valve's strange decision, our requests are not showing up. We kindly ask Valve to fix this and put these requests under a proper Turkish language request thread. We urge Valve to fix this situation.
Valve has moved our thread under the Ukraine thread in an attempt to put a dent in our request for Turkish language support, which received over 1000 comments. It's unfair to us, it's racist.

Its like one big snowball, someone asked for Turkish language support but some low level life-form responded with "Learn english like rest of the world" and turks began flooding here to make sure 2k heard their request. No streamer/content creator "raided" anywhere. Just turks getting together. They know Valve isn't the publisher but Valve's forums are one of the few places they can be this vocal about a problem. Its not only here, people are trying to get turkish language support for this game on Twitter, Discord and many other platforms. They even tried to contact 2K and people who have direct contact to 2K.

2k definitely will see this, this is the same way ukranians got their localization

Turks seem to not be able to read the forum rules in 2025
is this a problem with the turkish education system?
The main topic here is Turkish language support, and it’s crucial we stay focused on that. It's understandable that there’s confusion regarding the forum threads, but the real issue lies in the fact that Turkish players are simply asking for the opportunity to play Mafia: The Old Country with Turkish subtitles. This isn’t about trying to disrupt or "raid" the forum—it’s about making a valid request for language support, something that has been requested by hundreds, if not thousands, of players.

It seems like Valve might not fully grasp the situation, especially since they aren’t the ones responsible for the game's language choices. The publisher, 2K Games, is the one who can make the decision to include Turkish language support. However, Valve’s handling of the requests—by merging them with unrelated discussions—is frustrating, as it makes it harder for 2K Games to see the real demand for Turkish localization.

What we need is a dedicated thread for Turkish language support, where all the requests can be seen clearly and accurately. That would allow 2K Games to properly evaluate the demand and hopefully respond in a way that benefits the Turkish gaming community. So, while it’s easy to get caught up in the frustration of the forum mix-up, the important thing is that we continue to make our request heard in the right places.

There is nothing else that you are looking at because you are curious about it, the REASON for the Turkish players was to ask for Turkish Language, That's all.

If someone says “learn English”, let me say from the beginning, does the game can only win if stay in English language, absolutely not.

Kopya gibi yazmayın spam algınıyor.

Yeah, sure like you read terms and services every time before signing up for something on the internet. Who tf reads them?
Also, forum culture is not common among Turkish steam users and they are learning. Moreover, not everyone is lifeless to spend their time on forums and we are talking about thousands of people acting independently. Ofcourse a minority will do things wrong, espepcially when you consider that age of a part of the community is below 16. Maybe stop being a jerk and move on about things that does not concern you. If you are butthurt then it's a different story...
