Mafia: The Old Country

Mafia: The Old Country

About Trailer
After watching the gameplay trailer, my excitement has significantly dropped. I couldn’t see a clear difference from 'Mafia: Definitive Edition'. While the shooting animations may look smooth at first glance, there’s almost no sense of physical realism. One scene especially stood out a character gets shot with a shotgun at point-blank range and just drops to the ground as if fainting. There’s no visible impact, no dismemberment, no reaction it doesn’t convey any sense of power from the weapon. Games like RDR2, which came out years ago, handled these details much better.

Overall, the bodies look weightless and lifeless, environmental interactions are minimal, and the graphics don't feel like a step forward from the remake. Facial animations are stiff, the atmosphere feels generic, and aside from a few nicely choreographed moments, the trailer doesn’t really impress.

I still hope the story delivers, but based on what I’ve seen, it might even fall short of Mafia 3. It’s disappointing to see this after years of waiting. Personally, I’ve lost my hype but I sincerely hope I’m proven wrong.

Best of luck to those still looking forward to it.
