My post was to say my displeasure that he is a "part time" hero.
I am also on the same train of as far as I know somewhat sizable amount of people who are disappointed by how Red Hook included Bounty Hunter.
He might be strong when fully upgraded, yes, but alas what's the point of having him in the game if he only shows up randomly as an event, has to replace one of your heroes, only sticks around for one region, AND you have to pay him with meta currency used to upgrade everything too? C'mon now.
I really, really hope that Red Hook change their minds about him, and just rework him to be a normal hero.
And before anyone mentions that it's more "flavorful" to have him be a random mercenary- Flavor =/= Fun. I mean, I'll agree, it might suit him, but at the end of the day, it's still just a game, and I think that games shouldn't limit one's fun over flavor.
I think that with enough thought and care put into it, Red Hook can make Bounty Hunter both a satisfying permanent hero, and also make him retain that mysterious mercenary flavoring.
