Few questions because DD2 is confusing me
I played the first part for many hours. In the second part its like starting all over again.

1. What do you take into your next run? The progress of the characters via the shrine of reflection and thus the ability upgrades. But whats with the trinkets and quirks? Is every run completely new or does the former one interact with the next in any way?

2. Connected with this question - Does death do any harm to your characters in the long run? For that specific run of course but for the next?

3. The Trinket/Stagecoach/inn item upgrades - Do they unlock for your further tries and give you the item once for your next run? It confuses me that you get the item you never saw before. So does this upgrade unlock this specific item to be in the rooster for hoarders/merchants or what does it do?

4. The radiant flame triggers a message that says it will be equipped for this run - it is free and rewards great bonuses. Does anything speak against taking it? Same with pets.

5. Road debris confuse me a lot - before in DD1 curios were a big part. They are no longer there. Sometimes road debris give you a little gold but beside that - are they just a small bonus or how should I see them? Are they important?

Thanks in advance because I weren't able to find this stuff and usually its easier with games to find the information I need. Maybe my own inability but maybe because theres so much information for the first part.

Most of these questions should be answered within just playing it yourself for 30+ minutes but whatever:
1. The only things that stay are what you unlocked at the Shrine with Candles and Heroes Memories (aka. their attack unlocks). Everything else gets rerolled with a new run since you have to buy or get it anew. Only thing that you constantly get is the starting Cash
2. Not at all.
3. They grant you the unlocked item for the next run directly after you unlock it and make it able to appear randomly from then on. If you havent unlocked (or how they name it ingame "remembered") something you simply cant find it at all
4. Its a bonus you can take and honestly should. The other, dark Flame you can buy is for People that want a harder run. Same with Pets. Just adding nice Bonuses which wouldnt make sense not to take
5. The Debris is more or less just a coin toss for randomly finding battle items, food and a bit of money. To be honest its mostly useless. Sure, finding mediocre food for free from running over Debris is nice but then again ... meh, you know?

1) You take with you:
*Unlocked hero abilities
*Meta progression unlocks (check later; it hooks into another question of yours)
*Heroes with memories IF they didn't die

2) Yes; if a hero with slotted memories dies it gets reset (or rather; you get another hero)

3)At the Altar of Hope you UNLOCK items that become available for future runs and every time you unlock something you get that newly unlocked item as a sample for that run alone

4)No; you just can't swap it for something ELSE later

5a) Debris isn't that important but do hook into certain stagecoach items... nothing happens when you run through them and any negative effects you see were ALWAYS going to happen...it just happened to coïncide with you running over debris that time...unless you have a stagecoach item that says different (but I haven't seen any of those yet...)
5b) Curio's ARE still a thing; you just haven't encountered any yet but stuff like the dark altar still exist

Memories are something DIFFERENT from attack unlocks mind....

1) Unless you use Memories on Heroes via the Timeless Wood, everything about the Heroes (except their Paths and Abilities) is reset for each run. If you're not sure what Memories are, they're effectively permanent buffs to Heroes which carry over from run to run (provided the Heroes survive and are successful on their run). You must have a Hero complete a Confession before you're able to equip a Memory on them.

2) No, with the exception of Memoried Heroes which will lose all equipped Memories.

3) When you unlock items via The Working Fields, you'll get a copy of that item immediately, and you'll be able to find that item in Inns/Hoarders/Loot going forward. You're essentially adding that item to the item pool permanently; and getting a freebie when you initially unlock it.

4) Unless you're attempting to manipulate RNG for achievements, or you just want a challenge, there's no downside to taking the Radiant Flame. Likewise with Pets.

5) They're just there to run over, and sometimes award loot/relics when you run them over. There is no downside to running them over.

Supposedly so, but from discussions the difference is so minimal that the benefits of the Flame far outweigh a handful of candles.
