If the enemy has 3 blight per turn for 3 turns, but has 4 health left, then it would take two turns to die to blight. Cause of Death would kill it in one.
So it executes it all at once, if you have a 3 acid for 3 turns it would do 9 damage a fully upgraded skill? I thought it would only do that 3 damage for that turn. That makes a ton of more sense.
My MAA got diseased but I had a trinket that applied blight to enemy when they hit my character. In denial boss with MMA tanking and dotting with noxious blast and poison dart so much blight accumulated that after a few rounds cause of death was nuking for over 40 damage non crit. Last two padlocks were two shots.
Quite niche but smallpox + trinket + cad was disgusting. Loved it.
According to patch notes, Cause of Death can not crit and is not affected by damage buffs :( So it is almost pointless now, almost everything with high enough health also has DB resist and you do not want to cleanse dots before the enemy hits DD.
